We met in Fish Creek Park earlier this year, and we had a great time shooting images on a perfect summer evening! Ryan had some ideas that worked out really well, and I was really pleased with the results from their shoot.

Ryan and Laura are such a great couple!  When I first met with them, I could tell that they were very much in love, and it was great to hear about the wedding they had planned!  When they decided to book me I was even more excited!

Megan and David are just too sweet together. They compliment each other so well, with Megan being the outgoing, dorky, sweet girl she is, and David being a more sincere but good natured man.

Last week Saturday, David & Megan were married! I first met these two when they contacted me to meet and chat about their upcoming wedding!  I remember that Megan had some pretty great ideas, and wasn’t too fond of the photobooth idea:)  They ended up having a TON of fun in the photobooth though, and the images turned out really well!

This shoot, which we did earlier in the summer,  was a lot of fun, and when they asked if they could bring their two dogs, I said “Of course!”   The dogs are super cute, and together they make a great little family!

Enjoy these images, and be blessed!

We shot this engagement video in Bright Angel Park in Duncan, BC, on a random Monday in March when I was visiting with my family. We had a great time, and at the end I got to spend a few hours with Joel and Danielle creating this!

I guess I have to let the cat out of the bag now, to spill the beans, to share my secret!  We are going to be shooting a wedding on Vancouver Island (where I grew up!) and it is going to be amazing!  Joel and Danielle will be getting married on a small farm in Genoa Bay called Birds Eye Cove Farm (feel feee to give them some love on Facebook!) and it is going to be awesome!  They have recently built a brand new ceremony building, and the farm has awesome views of the ocean, the mountains, and many other great locations!

For this session we went to Edworthy Park, which ended up providing an amazing backdrop with some great fall colours! As a calgary wedding photographer, I know that it is very important to be able to read the available light, and to know what is good light and what is not so good light – and an engagement session offers the perfect opportunity to try different things and be creative! All I can say is that this session had some very good light:)

When I first met Ryan & Lana, it was a little differently than many of my other clients – in person!  I was creating some images for the Great Events Group at a wedding catering tasting (if you are getting married you should talk to the team there, they are amazing!), and Ryan and Lana were also there to try out the samples and to see what Great Events had to offer!  We chatted a little bit, I showed them an album, we both had a great evening, and later said our goodbyes.

A few days later, I got an email from Lana saying that they loved my work, and would like to meet up!  I was thrilled!  I have gotten to know them now fairly well over dinner, as well as this engagement session, and I enjoy every minute that I get to spend with them!

The best word I can use to describe Isaiah & Meaghan is FUN! These two are perfect for each other, and the times we have spent together (which are fairly often) are generally filled with lots of jokes, laughter, and smiles!

For this engagement session we decided to check out the new Ralph Klein Park in the SE, and it turned out to be quite the adventure!  Because the park is so new the Google Maps address was a little out of sorts, and we ended up driving around for quite some time!  But we made it eventually, and captured some great shots with some great lighting courtesy of the evening winter sun!

I hope that you two enjoy these images, I can’t wait for your wedding! It is going to be great!

Blessings,

Mark
